Find our favourite spots in the south coast of Galicia for and adventure trip!
We’re in love of every spot in Galicia; and as soon as we can, we go on a journey looking for adventures. Today, we take you on a trip to the south.
The route begins in Portugal
Borderline with Portugal, wonderful views to the mouth of the river Miño, you'll find Santa Tegra Mountain, which will transport you directly to the time of the Romans. If you drive along the coast to the north, Baiona is a mandatory stop, with its historic fortress. And to end the day, don't miss the sunset over the Cíes Islandsfrom Cabo Home Lighthouse.
Run, the journey continues!
Coves with clear water, fishing villages and a magical forest in Ría de Aldán are your next destination before arriving Pontevedra. Once in the city, let your legs go for a walk through the old town, the Pilgrim's Chapel, the Plaza de la Ferreria, the Alameda... And if you enjoy galician gastronomy, don't forget to try the delicious clam noodles from Casa Digna.
Touring Rías Baixas
On the horizon, the "mussel farms" floating on the calm waters of Rías Baixas; and on your GPS, the first stop: Combarro, the charming seaside village with lots of hórreos. Continue the route towards Sanxenxo, which you will love if you are an urbanite (Taberna del Naútico is a must!). If you are a wild soul, you have to explore the waves of La Lanzada and the coves of San Vicente do Mar. You'll also enjoy the sunset to the rhythm of the music from Arrocería La Lanzada. And you can't finish your trip without discovering La Toja Island and its Ermita de las Conchas.
We are waiting for you!
After many years touring Galicia, it always surprises us. We take note of every discovery and we love recommending them when you stay in Vila Sen Vento’s accomodations or rent our new motorhome, Maruxiña. Stay tuned! More routes are coming!
